Maurice Edu named to U.S. team for friendly against England

TORONTO — Toronto FC announced Friday that midfielder Maurice Edu will join the U.S. men’s national team, having been selected to the final 22-man roster for the upcoming international friendly against England.

The match will be played Wednesday at Wembley Stadium in London. It will be the first of three friendlies scheduled for head coach Bob Bradley’s side. The U.S. will take on Spain June 4 in Santander, followed by a June 8 date against Argentina at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. That will be the final game before World Cup qualifying begins for the Americans.
