Mo Edu started and played the full 90 minutes as the US defeated Cuba 1-0 to take control of their World Cup qualifying group. The Americans have 6 points after two consecutive road victories over Guatemala and Cuba. Mo started alongside Michael Bradley in the defensive midfield, providing possession, key tackles, and excellent service to the front men, as the US scored in the 40th minute and held on for the clean sheet. Clint Dempsey scored the lone goal for the US and goalkeeper Tim Howard recorded another shutout. The team traveled to Chicago yesterday where they will train before Wednesday’s match against Trinidad and Tobago which can be seen on ESPN2 at 7:00 PM CT. Trinidad and Tobago are second in the qualifying group behind the Americans with 4 points in 2 games.
