Rangers’ Damarcus Beasley welcomed countryman Maurice Edu to his neighbourhood this week – but won’t be hosting any marathon Ryder Cup viewing sessions.
The American internationals are old friends and are providing cultural kinship for each other as a Glasgow winter beckons.
As Edu unpacked his belongings and sets up home, the more experienced Beasley is acting as host.
‘We are both big American Football fans, so we’ll be round each other’s house to watch it,’ said Beasley.
‘It will mainly be at my place for now, as Maurice is still settling in.
‘I’m not a big golf fan but I’ll watch the Ryder Cup highlights – but, as for seeing it all day, probably not.
‘Maurice needs some games, to get some training under his belt and to get used to the guys. But I think he’ll love Glasgow, as I do.
‘I’m his chauffeur right now. I’m an Indianapolis Colts man, as that’s my home town. He’s an Oakland Raiders fan.’
